Greg Burhoe - Poet from Novia
Scotia
"Although I'm only 22, my age is by no means a restriction. I've
been writing poetry since age 16, and have been drawing my whole life--
ever since I could pick up a crayon. I love reading about mythology, dreams
and anything about the celtic people ( I am currently writing a novel
about the celts set in the
500's ). I am also involved in theartre, and have been acting since grade
nine. Currently, I'm involved in a community play, and I plan on getting
involved more seriously in acting in the near future. I love music,
especially instrumental and alternative. My favorite band is r.e.m., but
I also really love radiohead. My favorite poet is Leonard Cohen, and my
favorite artist is Vincent Van Gogh."
Imagine what we might construe
A room full of stark poltroons
In our maze we hardly see you
Or the eyes in the things that you do.
A mirror house is our outfit here
Turn away the light
And now our darkness empties you
Of the eyes in the things that you do.

The Artist's Condition
Whispers and echoes
Are like shouts and explosions
To an artist trying to get into his work.
Shouts and explosions
Are like whispers and echoes
To an artist deep in his work.
CLAY BELLS RING
Here we mourn.
Selected halls.
Here we die. rot. decay.
Here the kraken lurks unfathomed.
Bloody falls.
Here hearts rest in division.
Souls ache in mesh.
Insane asylum.
Gothic instituitional hell.
The clay bells ring.
But no one listens.
to anything.
