Michael O'Ryan - Poet from Las Vegas Nevada

" When the winds have swept my ashes into the desert seas
When the final word has spoken through my fingers and I am freed
And the last rush of life has borne itself into the starry skies
When my soul is struck by the lightening of all that's been
and all is all untied

When despite myself I am forgiven yet again
And I am hence untorn, unbound and all the earthly tears have dried
When my spirit's finally drown in the riches of the light in which all abides..."

"Creative writing, especially poetry, is a tool I've always used to explore the far reaches of imagination, and to revel in the mysteries of both consciousness and the universe which consciousness perceives. There are small miracles associated with truly liberated creative writing: The depth of truth revealed can be astonishing, and the conscious mind is often unaware of the gems hidden just outside of purely intellectual thought. If I had made the choice to never pick up the pen, my life would look completely different than it does today."

The land is aglow
I do not see the marvelous show
The land is aglow
But the marvel is nature's foe
I do not watch what is to be
The land is aglow
But I do not see...

My Nine Lines

Ink and water, words and light
In visual splendour, steeped delight
By candle sight and suns abright
By moon pouring into sacred night.

White crane-brushed river in Ghen
Sky-born flocks forgive again!
Whispering volcanos and flute thunder strong
Key Gong, Chi Gong, Ku Gong: The one song sang all along
Perpetual Impassion in passion-stripping awe, we see, we sow, what we saw.

Winden Song:

Feather dancing on skin
A touch swimming with sensation like winds licking newborn flames
Soft smile rising through a million thoughts
Inner luxuries unfolding
The thoughts a sea, waves now gentle with their rush...

Songs in the background
Singing song sought to soothe
Who has the courage to really feel?
Who has the courage to let the song reveal?

Feathers dancing on skin
Like knife tips dancing on finger strips
A juggler's dare
Moistened lips parting, twin tides inviting
Weathering skin, beads of sweat forming again
Eyes still in calm gaze, close as the passion plays
Head turning down and to the side
As the power of feeling arrives.

It's like...
Blindfolded and still seeing
Tripping over words and falling into truth
Not just reading between the lines
But driving through them with the soul.

Each step into the midnight desert of your mystery
Reveals landscapes unchained
The Dance Unseen in the silent reverie:
It is the stars above that sing the endless song
And it is the sands below that forever listen
Are we the stars or the grains of sand?
Do the singers of the song surrender all along?

Laughing Lovers' Leap

To my loving lover loving lively living luxuries
Purring, panting, picture perfect: Pure.
Our words are windows whispered
While we wade through water made
In spacious splendor - silken skies of SILVER sips of sea
Another journey jaunting juxtaposed gyrations:
Gypsy jade.
Us globs of goodie, giddy, not TOO gaudy gum
Goodness gorgeous!
The golden glowing globes
Are simply gilded orbs
                               of you and I.

Triolet - Love

A love that's lost was never love at all
Forever love is loving ever real
A moment's touch: A lifelong fall
A love that's lost was never love at all.
Better found and lost to feel the thrall
Even if it's just a false appeal
A love that's lost was never love at all
Forever love is loving ever real..

Shimmering Mirror

The eyes behold
The eyes of beauty
And tremble
Seeing something
Long forgotten
Seeking touching
Soft surrender
Reaching through an endless night
Lips in silence words unspoken
In another world far from here
A world seeps into our shadows
Hinting at the unimagined
Eyes tremble unexpected splendor
Trapped inside a shimmering mirror.

Antaglio, I am

Wrought in plasmic white iron, scalar wave born
Stolen from the crypts of time
Hammered to dents and then chipped to peices
Hammered painfully as if into raw bone
Yes into raw bone
Inlaid in flesh
And Etched upon with jagged strokes
By steel fingernails digging too deep.

Oh Even so
it is all antaglio
So I see as I go
It is antaglio
Brutishly pounded till it glows
Scraped out and in:
An outside the flow
Kind of
Antaglio.

I call out your name
As if I don't remember that I know you
As if to discover the you
I met in a dream long forgotten then suddenly recalled
In dropped-glass shattering shock:
The you I won and lost and won again
Won and lost times ten.

I call out your name
In another world
Far different from this one
I call out from the crypts of time
I call out your name and
Scream or sing?

Hammered to dents and then chipped to peices
Raw bone hammered painfully
Inlaid into flesh
And Etched upon with jagged strokes
By steel fingernails
I scream:

It is all antaglio
So I see as I go
It is antaglio
Brutishly pounded till I glow
Scraped out and in:
An outside the flow
Kind of
Antaglio...

Whose Song Who so Sings

I live her song, melt into her
As empty as the cosmic ocean
As silent as the midnight hour
In the quiet desert dryscapes
Sun-seared, worn
Yet waked and gazing
To the highest towers of perception
That are as deep as Death's worn valleys
And as tall as Christ's Commandments
As free as mystic Chi Gong masters
And as trapped as dotter dotted sage
I am simply nothing more
Than the writing on this page
Love Dance, Love Song
A Love whispering my way along.
